My Question or Issue
I am an artist called Omkara and while having never created an artist profile myself for Spotify, there appear to be numerous Omkara profiles which will make it slightly confusing for my fans to know which is the real profile.
1 of the following profiles has the name Omkara with Techichi added. This was my old name. Nowadays it’s just Omkara because MC’s on stage never bothered to yell the name (correctly) anyway.
So there are currently 3 profiles that show my music, 1 of which actually even shows music that I never produced.
The 3rd link I’ve provided shows a song I did not produce
And it also shows that my work appears on some kind of album, which does not hold a single one of my productions
And when you look at similar artists, there are a lot of artists that don’t even make the same music as I do, which makes sense since somebody added music to my profile that has nothing to do with me as an artist.
In short though, I’d rather have these 3 profiles completely deleted and allow only me to upload songs as Omkara to evade future problems. OR, combine those 3 profiles and remove the 1 song I didn’t produce and remove the “appears on” that album which has nothing to do with my music and remove those supposed “similar artists” which aren’t anything like what I produce.
I asked Spotify, but I've yet to receive a reply.
Hoping somebody here might have some advise.
Hey @46elm5tc36evdis,
Thanks for coming to the Community.
Since you've already reached out to the Creator Services team about this, there's nothing else we (the Community) can suggest.
Have a nice day. 🙂
Hey there,
thanks for replying 😉
So you couldn't say whether or not what I posted is possible at all?
That would be a good start to know actually.
Content can definitely be moved from one artist page to another, when, for example, the content has nothing to do with you.
I'm not sure if it's possible to move content to an artist page with another name, though.
Allright, that should be a good start. I'd preferably remove all those 3 profiles and start a new one. I'm about to drop my own label and I'd rather upload my songs all by myself. That way if I end up not being satisfied with one of my masters, I can always make a new one and reupload it. At least, I hope that this is possible.
That's not directly possible, but I'd recommend that you check out this FAQ article: https://artists.spotify.com/faq/music#i-m-a-new-label-how-do-I-get-music-on-spotify.
It should help 🙂
