I just signed up for premium and the first thing I seem to have found is the single-stream limit. Ok, so I need a family plan... but then to use that on my Alexa devices I'll have to make a separate Amazon accounts for each device to associate with the separate Spotify accounts. So it seems like it's not possible (or at least not plausible) to have multiple Spotify streams on my Alexa devices.
Is that true? Or maybe family account streams are pooled and you can have multiple streams from one account then but with a total stream limit?
Cheers,

The issue referenced is not the same problem.
This is not about sending the same stream to multiple devices.
This is about the fact that Amazon Alexa can be associated with exactly ONE Spotify account.
This means a household with multiple Alexa enabled stereos has conflict when trying to use one account.
The limitation of 1 stream per user in the family plan means a home owner must use multiple Alex accounts for each persons stereo. This is a big problem because now I can no longer manage all the homes stereos on my device with a single Alexa account.
Amazon music lets me stream 6 streams on one account, and so all my Alexas on one account on my one device are using that.
Please Spotify learn from our use case and allow us to pay you for multiple streams per account. Your app is better than Amazon in every other way.
I had the same dilema as the user above and OP. I figured signing up for family would negate the issue of when I tell Alexa in the Den to play one thing, it cuts off the stream in the kitchen. So I purchased the family account.
FOR THAT SINGLE GLORIOUS DAY JUST AFTER PURCHASE IT WORKED.
The kids were playing Despacito downstairs, the wife was on a podcast in the kitchen, I had john denver playing in the den, and James taylor in the bedroom.
Ever since I've been unable to replicate the same results. I'm unsure, but I believe that as soon as my wife accepted the email invite to be a sub-account the next day that the multi-stream across alexa went dead, defaulting back to the "hotseat" style stream we all know and hate.
There are several Ideas tackling this issue:
A vote for them wouldn't hurt. 🙂
The topic is quite old but looks like the problem remains :
I have 4 echo dots at home / 2 amazon accounts only and don't want to create more/ spottify family plan.
Unfortunately Spotify does not allow simultaneous streams on a same account. So now we can't listen different musics in the different echo dots through 1 same spotify premium account. it's a pity.
I have no other choice than moving to Amazon music which has that great feature!
