My Family Group was hijacked

My Family Group was hijacked

Several times recently while in the middle of listening to music on my phone, the playlist suddently switched. When I went to check that, it told me it was playing on a different phone and offered me to continue with that or switch to my phone.

I went in to find out how to change my password and then checked my family group to find 2 non-family entries in there. One had already accepted (John Williams of Indianapolis, it said) and the other Dr Strange was still pending.

I removed both but I'm confused as to how they might have added themselves?
