My account got reset

Hi Spotify,

 

All of a sudden today, I was asked to log in into my account, even though I used spotify just an hour earlier. Trying to log in with Facebook, as per usual, I get the error that my facebook is not connected to spotify. I tried to click on the sign up button and again clicked on Facebook, and not it seems a new account has been created for me, causing me to lose all my playlists. I am a Spotify Family member if it makes a difference. 

 

Any possible solutions?

Hey @user-removed,

 

Normally this happens when a duplicate account exists, one with a Spotify username / password and one with your Facebook details.

 

Follow this to get a device password:

  1. Go to Facebook settings.
  2. Select Security.
  3. Select App Passwords
  4. Click Generate App Password
  5. Enter your current Facebook password and click Submit.
  6. Enter Spotify, and Facebook will automatically generate a password for you.
 
You can use it, with your Facebook email address as username, to log into Spotify directly on any device. Hopefully it will give you access to your original account.
