My account randomly changed country, why?

My account randomly changed country, why?

Here's what I remember happening:

 

  • I redeemed a premium code or two
  • This somehow cancelled my renewal
  • I try to resubsribe via the NUS deal, but it failed
  • I come to play a track today, and find Spotify thinks I'm in the USA.
  • I check my account & find my profile country is set to the USA, and that I need to change my payment details to update it.
  • I check, and my UK payment card is stored, and my renewal is still cancelled

Any idea how this happened? I may have been connected to my US VPN when I redeemed the premium code, but even so...

 

I'll try updating my payment details to my new card...

I just updated my payment details to my PayPal, and it hasn't changed my country.

I'll need to acquire my card (it's in my wallet, which is downstairs in my jacket pocket :/)
