Hey there!
My name is Mina and my first single went live about 2 weeks ago. I’m using Distrokid and when the song went live, it went under a different Mina’s artist page. Is there a way to get this corrected? When I log into my artist’s page, it goes to the wrong Mina as well, but my song is still there? I’m very confused. Any help would be appreciated thanks!
Hey @Minam66
This is a common problem that happens often when multiple artists have the same name.
Spotify is working with distributors to solve this problem so it doesn't happen going forward.
Right now you're in luck. DistroKid has a support page on what to do when this happens:
You will need to login to DistroKid and go to this page and DistroKid can tell Spotify to fix the problem: https://distrokid.com/ArtistSeparation/spotify/
For further help, I would suggest contacting DistroKid and they will be able to help.
I contacted them twice already and nothing has been done about it. Is this something I can’t go directly through you about? Do I have to go through Distrokid?
Sorry for the late reply.
This is something that has to be done through DistroKid.
I have contacted DistroKid support for my own music before and they usually reply pretty fast. That is weird. I would suggest trying to contact them again.
Also you can try emailing Spotify Artist support if they still don't get back and they might be able to help: https://artists.spotify.com/contact
Hi Mina,
This had happened to me last year too (I am with Symphonic Distribution). My solution was to contact artistsupport@spotify.com directly and describe my problem. After several days and a couple of emails, everything was sorted out and my albums correctly appeared on my artist page.
So, don't hesitate to talk to Spotify guys, they are very helpful! 🙂
