The inability to do this myself when logged into Spotify is ridiculous and frustrating. WILL SOMEONE FROM SPOTIFY HELP ME FIX THIS? I need to detach from one Facebook account and link to another.

Hi bwatts1231 - I've just had a look at your account and there isn't a FB account linked at this time.
Are you still receiving your friend's playlists? I recommend doing a quick clean reinstallation of Spotify on your device. Once that's done be sure you log in with your 'bwatts1231' username (not your email address).

Also in Preferences in Spotify is there something that says, Disconnect from facebook?
Did you sign up with facebook?
I can not remember any other ways you can do it yourself at the minute, The only other way I can think of how you can do it, is if a staff member helps.
I got the same problem! There's this guy .... his name's on my account. I got the "old" Spotify so to speak, no Facebook needed.
Don't have any "Disconnect from Facebook" thingy.
How do I get in touch with a staff member here in the Community? (Am new at this).
EDIT: I'm worried, because of the guy's Facebook account, that he or someone else may be using my account as well. I would appreciate if a staff member also would kick all other users off of my account, if that's possible.

derekworth - As you created your account via Facebook, you can't "switch" over to another one. You'll need to cancel your subscription on your current account and then open a new one.
Scribe - I have disconnected the Facebook that was linked to your account. However, you should have seen this option in your Preferences page: Edit > Preferences (in Windows) or Spotify > Preferences (in Mac).
Do you now see the 'Connect to Facebook' button under 'Social Network'?
Oh, it was that easy ... well, now I see the connect button. I asume that's were the disconnect was. Funny thing, 'cause when I was in the preferences I somehow missed it. My bad, I'm sorry if I caused any inconvenience.

I'm having the exact same problem... my account is accidentally linked to a girl I know.
All of my playlists are registering as hers, so when I attempt to access them on my phone... yeah you get the point, no bueno.

As an update, I'm receiving: "Sorry bwatts1231, it's not possible to connect to Facebook on this account"
That's false and frustrating. I called her to grab her facebook credentials, but she's working.

I want to switch Facebook accounts and will gladly cancel and make a new Premium account if that's what it takes. BUT: I don't want to lose all the playlists I've created. How can I transfer the playlists?

You should be able to transfer and subscribe to your old playlists on your new account.

Hi. Please help if you can. I have already made two support tickets within a week, with no response from spotify's support team. I am seriously irritated and beyond frustrated. I pay for a premium spotify account, with a ton of saved songs and playlists. Of course this was setup with my personal facebook account. I have been trying to deactivate my personal facebook and now have a joint account with my husband. But everytime I sign into Spotify it reactivates my facebook acct. I am needing to get my facebook account switched on my spotify account to my new facebook account without losing my playlists, follows, and thousands of sounds. PLEASE! I pay for these and do not want to lose them.

The support team are the ones you need to get in touch with, since they are the only ones who can get everything transferred over for you.
Can you post your most recent case number here (its in the automated email reply) and I will ask someone to chase it up for you?
