My secret playlists keep turning public after some time and it is very annoying, as they contain some songs that mean a lot to me and it's very exposing. Is is supposed to happen and if so, can I disable this?

Playlists that are private should stay private. Could you try to create a new playlist, make it private and move all the songs into this new playlist? Find out if this playlist does stay Private. Perhaps something is wrong with the playlist and that's why it doesn't stay on Private.
