My student discount disappeared this past billing statement. Why?

I'm curious as to why I got charged the full $9.99 when I have a student premium account. Is there a reason why? I am still in school for a few more years. Do I have to reapply? If so, why wasn't I notified? Will Spotify reimburse me? Please help.

Hi @Alyssapaige6! Every 12 months Spotify Student does need to be re-verified, and it sounds like this was most likely what happened. Personally, I have gotten a notification warning me when I need to re-verify, though I've heard others complain that they haven't received a notification. Whatever the reason, to re-verify you'll simply want to visit the Student Discount page and re-enroll for your subscription through there.

If, for whatever reason, the process fails and states that you do not qualify, you can attempt again with manual verification from this page. 90% of the time the automatic verification process works without a hitch, but sometimes a more human touch is required.

 

As far as a reimbursement, I am not in a position where I can tell you if you will or will not be granted one. Instead, I can direct you in the direction of support, and you can personally inquire on your specific instance. Support can be reached one of three ways: through the online contact form; on twitter by reaching out to @SpotifyCares; or by sending a message to the Spotify Cares Facebook page. Please be aware that responses may take anywhere from 24-48 hours depending on the volume of tickets support is currently handling.

In regards to the contact form, upon filling it out you should receive a confirmation email, usually a generic message containing the information you provided and instructions to visit these forums. If after 24 hours you do not hear back from a support team member, please reply directly back to the confirmation email, even if it originates from a no-reply address. If you do not receive this confirmation email, please check your spam folder. If it is not present there, please attempt using one of the other contact methods, or, if you are unable to use the alternatives, please let me know.
