NUS extra discount and gift card

I've had a premium account for about 6 months, with the NUS discount, and for my birthday last month, I was given a £10 spotify gift card. Since I already have a premium account, there is no point in me downloading tracks, and I am only entitled to one month at the undiscounted price with the gift card, which seems a waste since I already get it at half that price. I've redeemed it, what can I do?
