Name showing as a combination of numbers and letters in certain cases

Hi everyone!

I bumped into an odd problem with my profile name.

So, my facebook connection works perfectly, and in most of the cases my name shows perfectly fine, however, there are two small cases, where it becomes a series of random numbers and letters.

Case 1: when I play songs from playlists created by me (on mobile), on top of the screen I start seeing that combination (probably, my internal ID)

Case 2: when people search for my playlists in the search engine, they do find them, however, my name is again that code-ish thing.

My connection to facebook seems to work ok, since in all other cases my name does show up, but how can I fix these two?

Keep in mind that Spotify gives you an alphanumerical username if you created the account through Facebook. No worries, your friends can find you with your Facebook name. Let us know if you have more questions.

Good to know that it's easy to find me even with this issue 🙂

However, is it possible to at least let my name pop up when I play songs from my playlist in the phone app? It's a minor annoyance, and if it's impossible, I can deal with it, but still.

Regarding your question, it's possible that your alphanumerical username shows on certain playlists created by you back when your display username wasn't still cached on the device you created them in. If you'd like, you can also give the app a clean reinstall and check if the username is still being displayed as before or if it changed, since the app's cache should be cleared in your device (thus giving Spotify a fresh start).
