My Question or Issue

My registered email address is no longer accessible, so I need to change to my personal email, however that was previously used by my husband to set up a free account.  We have deleted/closed that free account over 2 weeks ago (because the help article said to wait for 7 days while the account could still be reactivated). But now when I try to change to that email address, it still says "we're sorry, that email is taken"

We understand how this might be confusing so we just wanted to shed some light on what might be happening. When you close an account, you should receive an email with a link to restore it if needed, which is indeed valid for 7 days from the closure date. However, you'll need to wait 14 days from the deletion date to use the same email address on a new account, as it needs to be cleared from the old one first. 

 

We suggest waiting a couple more days and giving this a try again and in case you're still not able to sign up with this email address afterwards, it'd be best to reach out to us in private here, so this can be looked at backstage.
