New Guidelines and Conditions

I've just had the new Guidlines update arrive in my email. Am I still going to be able to access Spotify like I normally do when travelling in New Zealand for 6 weeks . I have a paid Australian individual account.

Hey @Mazimae, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

You can learn more about what has been updated in the terms in the email you received. You should be able to access Spotify while abroad, and there’s more information about that here.

You can also find the updated terms and conditions here. If you have any questions, let me know!

Guys, the Spotify terms and conditions have recently change in Septembre 2025. They now state that « You must only Access the version of the Spotify Service offered in your country of residence ». If I understand well this mean that we could no longer listen to Spotify when we travel to other country, unless, maybe, if you use a VPN!!! It would be nice if someone from Spotify could provide information regarding this change.

After 2 weeks, do I have to pay again to continue using premium membership?

Hey @Starrysky1943,

Thanks for posting to the Community! When you subscribed to a Premium trial, you were asked to provide your payment information because it’s a way to verify that your payment method works if you wish to continue using Premium after the trial with no interruptions. If you wish to cancel, you can do so following these steps.

Hey @Lou99,

Sorry about the frustration. The country or region of your Spotify account is based on where you were when you signed up. If you move somewhere else where the Spotify service is available, you need to update your country or region so that the appropriate service for your new country of residence can be made available to you, which may cause changes to the applicable pricing and catalog availability.

So, if you’re not moving there permanently and don’t intend to use a payment method that is registered in that other country, you do not need to worry about access to your Spotify account.

I hope this helps!
