Newbie question.

Newbie question.

Once I download from Spotify and run out my free trial, I understand I have to go online at least once every thirty days. What do I have to go online for and will I be able to listen to all of my downloaded songs with the free version after my trial runs out? Will my catalog still update?

Hey @Rickbalmighty.

Good Question!

Your account will simply revert to Spotify free and you will loose access to all premium features, but you are free to continue to listen to your playlists on the free service. But since offline listening is a premium feature, you can't do that. Ads will also appear while you listen on mobile.

Would my saved songs be considered a play list and would I save data by
having the songs downloaded? In other words, I would only need to confirm
the free acct. And stay online while I play my saved music with the free
acct..... Right?

The songs you have in "Your Music" section will still be available for listen, but only when you have an Internet connection. As a Spotify free user, you cannot download music for offline listening (no Internet connection).

If we are talking about mobile Internet connection (4G, LTE) then yes, if you download the songs on your wifi, then you won't use up your dataplan.

As a Spotify free user, I understand I can not download any more music,
although I will still have the capability to listen to my downloaded music
on my playlists or in my music/downloaded music lists while connected to my
free account without causing excess data usage since my files are already
local. Right....?

No, unfortunately the downloaded songs will be deleted locally.
