I believe if you are a premium subscriber they can refund you and create a new account with a new username. It's a pain but that's your only other option.

You could just create a Facebook profile for the purpose of renaming your Spotify if you have the energy.

The only way to change your account name is to create a Facebook account and link it to your Spotify account.
