Not able to change Country, only USA available, I am in Canada

Not able to change Country, only USA available, I am in Canada

I am located in Toronto, when i signed up for Spotify, it set my country default as USA. When I went to my profile, edit profile, country. USA was the only option, I was not able to select Canada. 

 

For this, I am not able to join my husband's family plan.

Ok, when I used my phone (using Bell's service) as hotspot, and tried to update the profile, the Canada option is available. 

 

I double check the ip location from https://www.iplocation.net/  , all 4 results are showing as Canada. 

 

So I guess either my ISP is doing some tunneling to US or Spotify has a bug to detect IP location. 

 

But here's the solution in case anyone is looking. Thanks the community for pointing out the "VPN" direction.

Hey @mslili! Thanks for reaching out.

Can you let me know if you're using a VPN? This might be interfering with things. Also, you can find more info on how to change  your location here.

We are not using VPN at all. 

 

However, I noticed that when I used https://www.iplocation.net/ to look for my IP location, amount the 4 results, one of them showed as US. Although the ISP name is correct. The rest of 3 results are all correctly show up as Toronto.

As suggested, I am following the instctuction from the link you gave me:

 

If you're on our free, ad-supported service you can use Spotify in a different country for up to 14 days.

To change your settings for the country you’re in:

Log in to your account page. 
Click EDIT PROFILE. 
Scroll down to Country and select your new country from the dropdown list.
Note: Your new country only shows when you’re actually there.
Click SAVE PROFILE.

The problem is only "USA" is available option, I can not see Canada there. For this reason, I am not able to join my family member's family plan.
