Not receiving emails, can't change email either

Basically here's the problem:

 

I've created my Spotify account through my Facebook account I believe. And the activity bar has never worked properly, and neither have pretty much any Facebook features on Spotify. I figured I'd create a username+password combination (instead of the FB account login) using https://www.spotify.com/us/account/set-device-password/ this link that I bumped into in some thread. When clicking on the button so it would send me a password to my email, it says it's been sent but I'm not receiving it. The email address isn't blocked, the spam folder is empty as well. And when I try to change my email address in my profile, it requires my password - which it does not accept and says that it's false. Yet I can login to the Spotify desktop client just fine with the exact same password.

 

This is getting a bit odd. Basically what I'd want to do is to disconnect my account from the Facebook profile making it a normal account with a username+password combination, then connect my Facebook profile to that. Shouldn't be this hard I suppose? This is getting a bit too mystical for me.

To me it sounds like you are trying to do it wrong. Only support can do this.

 

Contact support so they can help you transfer all your stuff to a non-Facebook Spotify account that uses a username and password to login:

https://www.spotify.com/about-us/contact/contact-spotify-support/

 

If you get an automated reply email telling you to check the help section or the community, you need to reply back to it, even if it's from a no-reply address.

 

Support usually replies within 24-48 hours.

Alright, I'll give that a shot, thanks. Still, I do find it a bit odd that I'm completely unable to change the email address on my account. All it says is that the password is incorrect, which I most definitely have made sure that it is not.

 

Hopefully this'll get rid of the problem though. Thanks a lot.
