Onkyo TX-NR616 Spotify login filed

Hello everyone,

on my Onkyo receiver TR-NX616 is a big sticker, that the device supports Spotify. Also, the receiver includes the Spotify app.

When I try to sign in to my free Spotify account with the receiver, the login failed. Message: Check for password / user name.

During that procedure I did notice that the registration works only with the Spotify Premium membership.

So i booked a Spotify premium membership!
and tried it again.

Unfortunately, login to Spotify still fails.

I have already tried everything to make sure that only alphanumeric characters are
used in the devices and passwords, the HDCP is turned on, latest firmware is installed, etc.

But without any success.

It always ends by trying to log me in with the receiver!

Hey @Techniker 

 

Did you get an email receipt for your subscription purchase?
 

In it, it shows the Spotify username you paid for:


Username/ID:        xxxxxxx

Be sure to use that username, instead of your email address, to login to your account. It's the one with the Premium features.


If you see a random number or letters, that's your actual Spotify username, which was assigned automatically to you when you created your account through Facebook. If you see it in your receipt, you may need to set a device password.
