I have had premium for over a year with your college discount with no problems, $4.99 per month. Today I was charged $9.99 and have not received any contact about a price change or a problem with my student verification. So basically I would like to be refunded the difference or receive an explanation as to why my price has changed with no notice or contact from spotify. The limited contact support is not encouraging to me, and I am about ready to just contact my bank and refuse the charge. How do I pursue a claim with customer service other than through a discussion forum?

Hello!
You have to renew your Student Discount subscription every year. Please cancel your current subscription and renew it here::
https://www.spotify.com/student/

You can try requesting a refund here, but if you've read and accepted the Terms and Conditions, you know that you must do it every year, so they might not give you a refund:

that leads me to imputing my credit card again to subscribe, and Im concerned of causing myself to be charged twice monthly.. should I cancel the current subscription and then re-imput my card?

this just happened to me too. kind of **bleep**ty that i have to keep track of the exact date for which i have to request the student discount again. after a year you'd think they'd at least you give ONE notification that your subscription is about to end. don't they make enough money as it is
