Spotify doesn't have parental controls.

You can give these 2 ideas a kudo to show your support for them:

Cheers - Thanks for the heads up

Not sure why this marked as solved. It's still an issue and the only solution is to vote for a feature that has been requested for years

not solved.

NOT SOLVED!!! The vote+ are greyed out on the links suggested.  Not sure why having this feature would be an issue.

How is it possible for a company as big as spotify to have a product called family and not to have parental control settings? Every other streaming app has them. This is not acceptable.

Not solved. At all. Why is there no parental controls and/or explicit song filtering?

Not solved.   Spotify is not a family friendly App unless you can allow parental controls

Totally agree. I just signed up for Premium Family thinking I could make a separate account for my 6-yr-old that filtered out explcit lyrics since they have these identified with an "explicit" button. **bleep** Spotify??? Apparently Apple Music offers this service so we will probably switch over.

Hilarious -- they're able to filter out my typing "Doubleyew Tee Eff" with a "bleep" but they can't offer a tool to keep my 6 year old daughter from hearing Elle King talking about wanting her kitty licked.

switch to Pandora they can this feature.

I will be canceling my service shortly. I t baffles me that in 2017 Spotify cannot implement technology to limit explicit lyrics. I refuse to fork over $ to a company that is either that blind to parental concerns or so inept they cannot incorporate a simple fix.

I signed up for Apple Music just because of this. Doesn't appear any of the other major streaming services offer parental controls or a way to filter out explicit songs. Crazy to have a "family" plan that isn't family friendly!

Does anyone know how we get an update from Spotify on this?

Like others have said it sounds crazy that in today's day and age with Family accounts that we can't restrict explicit language on some devices through parental controls.

Lets all Tweet them about it and see what they say/do?

I subscribe to Apple Music's family plan because they won't offer this. Not sure why this is so hard to find. It's obviously doable as Google's streaming has it, Pandora's streaming has it, and Apple Music has it. At $180 a year I can't imagine it would take that long to pay for this development with all the demand for it. I'd PREFER to subscribe to Spotify but can't because I would have to not only pay twice but maintain two sets of playlists so that my 7 and 10 year olds don't have to hear about Bitches Ain't **bleep**. $20 says they filter it out fo this post though. LOL.

The US Census Bureau says that 31.8% of US Households have a child under the age of 12 in the household. I have a hard time understanding how a CEO who literally ignores nearly 1/3 of his potential market share still has a job.

NOT SOLVED....What more can be said. They have had years and I am not an Apple person so I am looking for an alternative for my family.

Why isn't this solved? Simple... Spotify doesn't want to limit the amount of plays new songs get. It's all about numbers. They don't really care about your children's well-being.

They will never, ever fix this because they know they don't have to. This is the only service that is fully featured on all kinds of devices.

Shame on you.
