Password Reset: Username provided not associated with active spotify account

My Question or Issue

I have tried resetting the password using the methods taught on the community forum. For example, right clicking the link and pasting on an incognito window to reset password also failed. I was brought to an error page.

Attempting to reset password using phone also failed. It says the username or email you provided is not associated with an active Spotify account.

Thus, i tried signing up with my email address but it says the email has been taken, meaning my account still exists. 

Please advise.
