Paying with gift cards (AMEX)

Anyone know if I can pay for premium with an AMEX gift card? Emailed a rep, but they weren't very clear/specific.

You can try using an AMEX gift card, but it it get declined, then it most likely won't work.

Before, I've seen people post here that the card has a fine print that says something like "will not work for reoccurring subscriptions".

So since Spotify premium is a reocurring subscription (unless you cancel) it probably won't work if that is true.
