Solved!

Please remove my card information, now.

Hello,

I was charged for Premium after being offered a free trial, because I was asked to add my card for an automatic renewal subscription in case I liked the service, seemed fair. But I was charged for the "free" trial.

Then I decided to cancel the subscription, and I thought my card information was removed, but it wasn't. Because of that, I searched for a way to remove it and found out in the community pages/forums/help section that it cannot be done until my current fake "free" month is done.

I want my card information removed now, even if it meants giving up on the month I was tricked into paying.

Please avoid reinforcing what I already know, just let me know it was already removed so I can check. Or, tell me where can I go to remove it myself.

The answers you gave me make no sense.

First. Removing my card. You did not answer my question. You said: "Lucky for you, it isn't actually that hard to delete your card information."

And you listed these steps:

Step 1: Go to 'www.spotify.com' and click on the settings tab.

Step 2: You will notice a list with tabs, use 'Subsription'.

Step 3: The only thing that is left to do is to click on the 'change or cancel' button and then press 'Cancel Premium'.

Where in those steps can you find the process to delete the card information? How hard can it be to remove my card information?

Second, about being charged for Premium on my Trial period, you said: "...if you start the trial period you have to add your card information just to avoid abusing the amount of usage for the trial." How could I possibly abuse a trial period if Spotify has control over who uses Premium?

It's not like I can choose to stay on a trial and remain Premium and choose not to pay for it, in a sense, using it for free and refusing to pay for it. Are saying Spotify charges you in advance to prevent trial-users from abusing the trial period? That doesn't make any sense.

I don't know if you just gave me a canned message without revision or you seriously thought it made perfect sense.

Just please, someone remove my card information.

Thanks a lot Maxim.

You know I looked for official support on the "Help" section and the only type of communication I could find was through the "forums"? I went ahead and looked over it again and I could not find that link at all  [ https://support.spotify.com/mx/contact-spotify-support/ ].

Thanks a lot, that option should be more accessible as I am requesting official support that needs official credentials to fix.

Kobevt,

Doing the least, the bare minimum, the littlest thing next to nothing I could, giving a 'thank you' for your attempt.. that is not in my nature. That is why I provided feedback

I come from the point of view that thanking someone for doing the wrong thing is irresponsible and disrespectful.. even if the intention was well intended. And I have some pretty good reasons for that:

1. Appropriateness: I believe we should treat each other as equals, and giving a "thank you" for a wrong, even if well intentioned, is alike to treating someone like a child in early age development when they are obviously not in that stage of life.

2. Treat others as you expect to be treated: It's the way I expect to be treated and I would never treat anyone worse than that. Because of that, I only give my "thanks" after a clarification is given if the help offered was poorly aimed. That's what I would want.

3. Effectiveness: Why would I spoil good intentions with empty feedback? I'm not the kind of person to waste a good envelope for the sake of insincere politeness. I prefer to be effective.

4. Fairness: We all have the right to improve, even if not everyone is capable of improvement because of circumstances. I know that it would be unfair to reach a conclusion without using the proper method and standards. Because of that, I treat you the right way, as if you were capable, without prejudice.

This might not be in line with your point of view, but I cannot force you to believe you deserve the least I can do, I believe I should give anyone the better of me. And I know this might not be obvious or well received by everyone, but oh well, at least I enjoy aligning my actions with my beliefs. It feels good.
