My Question or Issue
Hello, I have a problem for a long time. There are 2-5 polish songs in my discover weekly playlist every week.
1. I am not from Poland
2. I am not listening for polish songs either
3. I keep disliking these artists from my discover weekly playlist
4. I've changed my password about 6months ago as Spotify support suggested me. And didn't see any other connections to my account.
Help me please as it gets very annoying.
Hi folks,
Thank you for your replies.
@AgneK The location can certainly be a factor to take into consideration. In this case we suggest you take a look at this idea, which suggests the possibility to exclude certain languages from recommendations and personalized playlists.
@LiuVar For now we only want to test if the behavior changes with a different account. You can create a Free one just to see how it works and, depending on what happens, we'll continue from there.
Keep us posted.
Hey @waldokas,
Thanks for the post.
The algorithm recommends songs based on the music you listen to and what is most popular with others that listen to similar music.
We'd suggest listening to more music via the Search option. You can also like songs that appeal to you and hide songs that you don't enjoy on your Discover Weekly and Release Radar.
Note that if your account is linked to a communal device, like a home speaker/ TV to which other users have access and can listen to different music, you will get recommendations based on what has been streamed on those devices as well.
Hope you find this information helpful 🙂
Just registered to join this discussion. I am living in Switzerland and have this problem also. 10 out of 30 songs in this week's "discover weekly" Polish songs.. Spotify Team? Are you sure you are not hacked by Polish hackers? This is really disappointing.. I am a long time Spotify user, but I am really frustrated and would start looking for other apps which have a better algorithm if not solved..
Polish songs have been haunting me for a couple years now, but last couple of weeks it's going crazy. 23 polish songs in my weekly mix...
To clarify:
I'am ukranian, living in germany. Sometimes listening to russian/ukrainian music. I have maybe two polish songs somewhere in my playlists. No I don't listen to polish songs regulary, maybe one song in a month. No nobody at home is listening to polish song on Amazon Echo or smth either...
Same problem for me here in Denmark. Started 4-6 months ago. This week and last week 2-5 polish songs that really stands out compared to the other songs in my "Discover Weekly". Until this happened I told everyone that recommendations from Spotify were extremely succesfull, but now it seems that someone has hacked your algorithms.
I'm just here to wish this stupid bug that Spotify refuses to address a happy 5th birthday, at least. Because I've been having this problem for 5 years now.
11 months have passed. This week my Discover Weekly list has 9 polish songs out of 30 ... Good that I have Youtube Music also now..
Hi there. The link you were sharing is not working - access denied 😭
This is ridiculous recommendation. You’d better come with an explanation and fix and not blaming your clients and offering useless advice.
