Premium Student discount

Good day,

as a student in Germany i would like to upgrade my Spotify free to Premium. At this point I also would like to pay with a prepaidcard. Is it possible to combine this two options?

Unfortunately this is not possible. The gift cards don't work as credit that will be added to your account but works as "9.99 = 1 month of premium". This also means that 2 students can't gift each other with a lower price student discount as you can only pay the full price for prepaid cards and receive 1/3/6/12 months instead.

Everyone just says that "you can't" instead of listing reasons as to why. I recieved a 60 dollar gift card because the person assumed that paying with a gift card would be no different than paying with any other card, but for some reason spotift has decided that if you have a prepaid card you are unable to use it with a student discount. I am a registered student at NKU but am unable to use the discount because of problems with their payment methods... unless they want people to not be able to use the student discount with prepaid cards, which would be quite silly. All i want is a payment option (when on the student discount) to reeem my prepaid card, otherwise ill have to go drive back out to return my card just to pay with paypal, which shouldn't be neccesary because we already have paid the $60.
