Premium account changed to free without warning

Premium account changed to free without warning

I have two accounts linked with a family subscription.
Suddenly both accounts were set to free, without any warning
about problems with payment or such.
I am using PayPal for payments, and that account is used for other
payments weekly, and has not had any problems. The credit card
is valid through next year.

I can probably just resubscribe, and give payment details again,
but this was very annoying.

I have been a premium subscriber since 2009, and on a couple
occasions I have been given notice that my card was about to
expire, but I have never been automatically kicked from the subscription.

 

Could this be a Spotify <-> PayPal problem?
