How come on the mobile app it says it will charge me $16.99?

Is possible that you are trying to subscribe through in-app on a Apple device.

If so:

In-app purchases costs more because of the "Apple's taxes".  😄

Hey there!

Did you subscribe to Premium through iTunes? Apple takes a 30% cut when you subscribe through them. If I were you, I would cancel your subscription:

Then re-sign up using Spotify:
