Question About Usernames

I'm not fully sure if this it the right forum, though I do hope it is.  This isn't really an issue, but more of a curiosity. 

I understand that the randomly generated usenames are to allow for a "improved performance". What I was wondering is if anyone knows how it improves it? For me personally it seems like a hassle and an eye sore, but I'm wondering if I'm missing the reason for it to be useful.

I understand your concern. As mentioned by Spotify: "As we look to improve the overall Spotify experience, we’re now automatically generating usernames, hence the random numbers and letters", explains that Spotify is always looking to improve and make thing better.
