RECENTLY PLAYED SONGS LIST GONE

Solved!

RECENTLY PLAYED SONGS LIST GONE

JUNE UPDATE OF SOFTWARE REMOVES "RECENTLY PLAYED" LIST OF SONGS.

Software updates and removes RECENTLY PLAYED SONGS list and replaces it with ALBUMS only verson. No longer can you see a list of music you've played. The History optiosn only show ALBUMS. They have removed the "SONGS" list option.

After ten years of membership I transfered myh music over to APPLE and found out THEY don't have a list of songs unless you MAKE ONE. Kinda bad tbh.

SPOTIFY - PLEASE PUT BACK SONGS LIST FEATURE> ASAP.

After many years of being a loyal Spotify customer, I went ahead and cancelled. Shame over a small, obvious feature. Turns out Apple Music is better for listening to Radio and Radio shows, I can like the songs very easily, that put me over the top.

but the one on the home page on the mobile app has 12 items in the list? if you think thats enough, youre very wrong. and im sure artists that i listened to a month ago would like another listen, but i cant remember all that. and i shouldnt have too. you know that info! i bet you know every song ive listened to since the beginning, but you can only tell me the last 12? and i shouldnt have to save an album or playlist for it to show up in my library. you took something that was almost automatic with the recently played list and made it overly complicated with saving and following.

tidal. what? TIDAL! huh? apple music. apple? APPLE MUSIC! ok ok but let me see how they handle this. no. they ruined their chance. come on. tidal. apple. well maybe.. ill see........

Have you tried the History tab on the Play Queue?

on the 'Now Playing' bar at the bottom of desktop Spotify, click the Queue button.

click the History tab.

you'll see about 50 of the last songs played.

I was referring to the iPhone mobile app, not the Desktop app.

This answer does not address the questions. The question asked was how to see laist or recently played *SONGS*. Looking at "Recently Played" in "Your Library" will show only recently played artists and playlists.

Correct. The question asked was how to see laist or recently played *SONGS*. Looking at "Recently Played" in "Your Library" will show only recently played artists and playlists.

Hey folks,

Thanks for reaching out to us about this!

There's a handy Spotify Answer here which shows how you can view your listening history of songs on the desktop app.

As for mobile, there's a popular idea in the Community which you can add your vote to - just head here!

Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any further questions about any of the above.

Who uses the DESKTOP APP

We’re talkin mobile here

I am looking at the desktop app right now.

There is NOWHERE to see past played songs anymore.

Play Queue does not have a tab called HISTORY, and the left side panel does not show a menu under "my library"

Does this feature just not exist anymore? That's kind of lame...

Hi there @fhoug,

Thanks for reaching out!

I'm just humping in to confirm that currently you should be able to view the artists, playlists and albums when you click on Recently Played (located under Your Library). Separate songs are not displayed there.

Here's an article that has clear instructions how to find the individual songs you listened to.

If you still can't see the tab History, send us a screenshot of how the Spotify app appears on your side.

Hope this sheds light on the subject.

The subject says “songs.” Your reply doesn’t shed light on what we already knew. I’m much happier with Apple Music folks, highly recommend. The only thing I miss is the Spotify year-end review.

Dude. your spotify is stupid... or what. I don't even have premium and I DO have the feature you're saying is gone. I have a screen recording. Look.

.

Peter,

As a moderator I have to say you're really dropping the ball here by responding at least three times within this thread over a 6 month span by quoting outdated information.

When one selects the play cue in the bottom right corner, "history" no longer appears. One can only change the order of future songs within that option.

Please stop offering advice that has no relevance. It's bad enough a feature that people wanted has been removed, it's even worse to compound the issue by not beginning to understand what people re complaining about.

A fellow moderator Katrina has made this same mistake.

I've attached a screen shot after selecting the "play cue" as advised. This changes the screen to appear as the attachment shows. No "history" appears, rather the only thing that is made available is to change the order of future songs.

Hopefully you understand the issue now. It's been dragging on for a year with no one offering anyone a solution.

So I may have solved this issue on my own.

Up until now I always logged in from Spotify website url, used my cached password & then scrolled down to the link yo the player at the bottom of the page.

Rather now I took the time to install the desktop app, which is the most recent version of Spotify.

The history icon reappeared. All should be good.

With that said, the fresh install wiped out whatever history once existed. In all likelihood the history function will be back to normal once I begin playing tracks.

I'll keep everyone advised.

I had been listening to Spotify on my android phone which ONLY displays the recently played albums (i.e. if I had been listening to the entire album, not a single song from one album). Going to the Desktop version of Spotify tells me there is zero history to be shown (searching for Play Queue and then going to History).

Removing Recently Played Songs and not having an alternative to search for them makes this a very dumb omission. Really dumb without any logical explanation.

P.S: I cannot attach screenshots to this reply - the option does not appear.

Yep, installing the desktop version removed any history I had by listening on my phone (likely because the desktop app had just been installed). This confirms that Spotify just doesn't record the history of songs played anywhere unless the mobile app version communicated with the desktop version (which had had to be previously installed).

You're so wrong, Katerina and Peter. Check your Spotify again and return with an answer.
Recently Played only displays my recently played entire albums. If I listened to an individual song, the album on which that song is located is not even shown.

Hi there @Mexhigh,

Thanks for reaching out about this.

Currently the Recently Played tab only shows albums and playlists you've listened to recently. If it's not updating and you're not seeing roughly the same lineup on all your devices, we'd recommend logging out everywhere and performing a clean reinstall of all the apps you're using. This way you'll force a server resync with your account, and clear any cache that might be corrupted.

If you want to leave any feedback on how the New Desktop app works, you can head over to this Feedback thread and add your comments, as our developers are looking for direct user feedback 🙂

Hope you find this info useful.

Thank you for reaching out, @Alex, but no, i do not find your answer useful at all.

The issue was not having a history of songs recently played on any device, mobile or desktop. You haven’t provided us with a solution or even a reason for this omission because there is no logical explanation. Has any of the moderators actually paid any attention to this thread at all?

Maybe deep down you at Spotify really want to tarnish your image and reputation by off-topic replies on forums, bickering with Apple about subscription fees and generally pi§§ing on your clients at the same time.

Maybe you think I've overreacting. But brand loyalty has never been about reasoning but emotional reactions. And Come Xmas you will have lost me as a client.
