Recalling sign-up type?

Recalling sign-up type?

I'm into the web player associated (?) with Facebook and can see my "Account : Free" indicator, but I do not remember if I signed in with Facebook or by using my e-mail address.

I searched the e-mail account associated with the web player view I am seeing and do not find a "Welcome to Spotify" message, so does this confirm I signed-in or signed-up using Facebook?

Thanks very much in advance for any help on this question!  It would be great if the "Settings" page (view) showed Account origin or something.

P.S.

I also see the following URL when I click "View Account":

https://www.spotify.com/us/account/overview/?utm_source=spotify_webplayer&utm_medium=growth_conversi...

Does anything within this indicate the source by which I came to Spotify?

Spotify offer two types of logins, Spotify username logins where you log in using your unique Spotify username and password, and logins using Facebook where you login using your Facebook email address and password. Any time you log in using an email address, it will authenticate using Facebook.

Peter,

I think I understand your answer, but it really reads as if an e-mail registered user IS a Facebook user, and a Facebook user IS an e-mail user.  This cannot be right, can it?  If I had registered with my e-mail address and did NOT have a Facebook account, then no Facebook-based authentication would be possible.

Alternately, what if I registered with an e-mail address NOT associated with my Facebook account in any way?  In this case there would be no way Spotify could "automatically" associate me with ANY Facebook account.

So, while your answer is somewhat helpful, I do not think it answers the core portion of my question.  I am betting there is more in the way of a, 'Since I did not get a Welcome to Spotify' e-mail in my account, that Facebook must have been the way I tried Spotify last week.

I think the account types are a little confusing so let me try and explain a little more.

If you register using your email address (not Facebook), you choose a unique Spotify username when you register. To login to your email registered account, you have to login using that username not your email address (since logging in with an email address will try and login via Facebook).

If you register using Facebook, you simply login using your Facebook email address and password.

As far as I am aware, Spotify don't verify email addresses when you register so I'm not entirely sure you would get a welcome email? Although it has been a long time since I registered!
