Redeeming a gift card in a different country

Is there a way to redeem it? Or a way to be able to do something similar to this? As someone in Sweden just bought me one, but obviously the gift cards have changed.

Same here.
I'm Italian and I'd like to gift a 3months card to a friend who is moving to Australia but I'm not sure I can do this.. I mean, I don't know if he would be able to use the premium account once he moved, because when you buy it they say "Spotify Premium codes can only be redeemed by recipients in the same country as the country you bought the e-card in.".
Can anyone help me?

Unfortunately, gift cards are only redeemable in the country in which they where purchased, that is just the way it is now I'm afraid. There is no way to gift Spotify internationally that I am aware off. 

ali_rrr, since you already have a gift card I would say there is no harm in asking the customer services team directly using the online contact form very very nicely could they change it for you, but no promises since it clearly specifies the restriction when you buy a card. 

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

Ahh that's annoying, I guess I'll try. Do you know if people can pay using their credit card for you in a different country?

To pay for Spotify you need to have the account and the card both registered in countries where Spotify is available, but they do not have to be "the same" country. Be aware that purchasing a subscription for someone else who does not live in a country where Spotify is available is against the Spotify terms.

but I have on more question.. If my friend redeem the gift card here in Italy and then move to Australia would he be able to use his premium account there? Also on his mobile?
Because I think I read somewhere that you can only use the Offline mode if you go abroad..

Premium membership works overseas just fine for streaming and offline play.

Yup Joe is correct, premium (and unlimited) do not have any abroad based restrictions applied to them.

Hi!

Iv'e got a gift card last week (from sweden). My account was made in Sweden and Ive always used it there. 

I am in Italy at the moment, and did the mistake of redeeming the gift card, when writing the the pin code 

it seemed alright but of course it doesnt work. The pin code doesnt work anymore. 

Money lost???

As long as your country was still set as Sweden on your Spotify Profile it should have redeemed fine. You should have received an email confirmation when you redeemed the gift card, is the username shown on the confirmation the same one you see on your online overview?

I have got the mail and in my profile the country is still Sweden. But I still have spotify free. Do I have to do something else, mayby i have missed a step or should it be automatically changed into premium?

If you redeemed the card it should have automatically changed over to premium. I would suggest you get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they will be able to check this out for you.

I've redeemed some premium codes, still have five months until my Spotify premium runs out. Because I've moved back to the Netherlands I'd like to change my country back to the Netherlands. Can I do that without losing my free months? Remember, I've already redeemed my free months.

Premium works in any country without restriction so there's no need to change it but, if you want to, you should be able to do so by registering a Netherlands payment card. Failing that, get in touch here and the account team may be able to help. If you get an automated response directing you back to the community or to the help pages, please reply to it to speed things along.

Hello everyone, I have this HUUGE question. I live in Mexico but the PC I use everyday at the office has a U.S. IP address, in that computer I created my spotify account. I constantly travel to the U.S. SInce I dont have a credit card, can I buy a spotify gift card in the U.S., redeem it in my office PC, will it work just fine??? I mean, will I get all the benefits of having a U.S. spotify premium account??? This question is because the wifi network at home obviously has a mexican IP address. Thanks!

Yes, if your Spotify account location is US you should be able to redeem a US gift card without issues (from your work PC).
