Set device password - Link in e-mail doesn't work

Hi guys,

i'm trying to set password for my Spotify account as i'm registered through Facebook and want to use it on other device. When i request password reset on 'Set device password' page, i receive e-mail with the confirmation link but when i click on the link i get 'Oh no! Something has gone wrong! But don't be sad. You can try again a little bit later.' error page. Is it bug or am i doing something wrong?

Thanks for help.

Hey @sonickaaaa,

Can you try creating a device password (app password) here: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=security&section=per_app_passwords&view?

Let me know how it goes. 🙂

Hey @Dufi,

Can you please try creating a device password at https://www.spotify.com/account/set-device-password/?

Also, why do you need a device password? 🙂

Let me know, thanks 🙂

I am testing devices based on Raspberry Pi, for example Squeezebox,
RuneAudio, Volumio... Right now I am not able to test (and also use)
Spotify functionality.

...and...of course, I did try to set up device password from my profile..but email link is sending me to "Oh no! Something has gone wrong! But don't be sad. You can try again a little bit later." error page.

Please reach out to Spotify so that they can take a closer look at your issue 🙂

If you get an automated reply email telling you to check the Knowledgebase or the Spotify Community, you need to reply back to it, even if it's from a no-reply address. Spotify Support usually replies within 24-48 hours.

Thanks for keeping up with me. Try clicking on Use two-factor authentication. You should be able to see App passwords below.
