My Spotify account (Username: <snip - moderator edit>) has been working fine for years, the other day I decided to log in via my Facebook account which uses the same email address as my main account. After logging out of my Facebook Spotify account, I logged back into my main account (Username: <snip - moderator edit>) and everything seemed to be normal, all of my playlists were still there.

 

Today I logged back into my main account (Username: <snip - moderator edit>), and found that it has somehow been replaced by my Facebook account, and no matter how many times I tried to login, it would keep sending me to my Facebook account which of course has no liked songs and no playlists.

So it seems as though I have lost all of my playlists and liked songs. 😞

Thank you for your swift reply and sharing those insights. 

 

Since you're getting the error message auth:2, please try resetting your password using specifically your email address, then try to log in again. 

 

Also, because it seems like there is more than one account, it'd be a good idea trying to log using any other email address you remember.

Welcome to the Community and thank you for posting. 

 

For what  you describe, there's a chance you have different accounts.

 

Have you tried accessing only with your email address instead of Facebook? If not, please give it a try. 

 

Also, we suggest you check this article with some steps to find out if you have another account and how to access it.

Thank you for your reply, It is not possible for me to sign in with only my email address as I get an error code: auth:2.

Let me try to be a bit clearer, I used to sign in with my username: <snip - moderator edit>, and then my password, this always worked fine and I had thousands of liked songs and playlists on this account.

The other day on the sign in page of Spotify I clicked "Continue with Facebook", which opened a browser window asking me to continue logging in with my Facebook account. To be clear, my Facebook account email address is the same as my normal account's (<snip - moderator edit>) email address. I know this because when I login to my <snip - moderator edit> account and click on account profile, I can see the same email address.

 

The issue is that my account with username <snip - moderator edit> is no longer like it used to be, it no longer has all my liked songs and playlists but instead has been CONVERTED into the Facebook account which I used to set up my Spotify many many years back and so now I have ZERO liked songs and ZERO playlists, I have completely different followers and the image on my account has changed. (Please mind the CAPS, they're just to emphasise my point, I'm not trying to be rude).

Hi MafeG,

 

Thank you so much for all your help, it turns out my account was linked to a different email address with a numerical username similar to the one I have trying. I cannot believe all the trouble I have gone through these past few days when the issue was solved as simply resetting my password for a different email account, thus revealing my actual accounts username. Anyway thank you so much for your support, I can now enjoy my library again.
