Single account, multiple session

Hi,
Will Spotify ever make it possible to have 1 account and being able to play different songs?
The only option now is to use "Spotify Connect"  that restart the song where you left off last time you played.

Now as we are getting more and more IOT devices like Alexa, Google Home, Sonos etc etc.. I think it is about time that Spotify makes it possible to create a subscription-plan for us that want to e.g. (in my case) having music on for my kid sleeping and being able to listen to my own music without having to interrupt/disconnect my kid's session or my wife using it in our car.
I really thought and hoped that "Family membership" solved this, but having different account for each session, with different playlists really doesn't make sense and much more complicated than what it need to be.

Hopefully Spotify will consider this seriously, and make it possible for us to use the same account simultaneously on other devices.

Spotify, you will have full control of the devices anyway (counting unique device ID/IP addresses/geo location etc), so why is it such a big deal? Can't you just implement it if we pay for it?

That seems like a great idea to me! I'd recommend submitting a new Idea here and make sure to +VOTE to it, as Spotify will be taking a look at it.

Has there been any movement on this?

I have exactly the same problem, my children want to listen to music at night and I want to have control over what they listening to will not effecting my own account etc. I've attempt to build an app myself but cannot get multiple user accounts authenticated at the same time.

It would be great if the API allowed multiple user accounts to access the API at the same time!
