Spotify Always Uses Facebook Acc. to Log-In, Instead of new Acc. with Email.

So,

having made the decision to deactivate my Facebook account, I am not able to use Spotify.  I created a new account, added the premium to that new account and now when I try to log in with my new account, spotify continues to choose the fb log-in instead of my newly entered email and password. In effect, my Facebook keeps being reactivated and I'm not able to use my newly created account.

So, what do I do?

This, is so terribly messed up, I can't get my head around it. Been trying for hours to sort out this aweful madness with spotify - might as well switch over to Apple Music.

Again: I type in the new email address and password. I hit enter or log in for that matter and it jumps right into my old fb account.
