Spotify App on Windows 10 rejects my username/password credentials

Greetings. I am a premium subscriber and use Spotify on a number of iDevices (PS4, iPad, IPhone6s, and a crappy ASUS Nexus 7 Android device.

 

No problems with logging in and using any of them.

 

I decided to download and use the Spotify App on my Windows 10 machine, and it rejects my password associated with the email account that I used to create the account (I refuse to link things to my Facebook account which I grudgingly keep alive for the sake of a few family members I marginally care about, and because Zuckerberg's marketing goon squad knows way too much about me already as it is)...

 

Anyway: why is it that even after uninstalling/re-installing the app and changing my password, the app REFUSES to alllow me to log in, even though I can log in to other parts of Spotify's web apps (including this forum)...?

Hi,

Have you also tried login in through your username instead through your e-mail account?

 

Assuming you have access to https://www.spotify.com/account/overview/ you can check your username under account overview (first page).

 

There shouldn't be a difference in the Windows app or the Iphone login methods but it's worth to try it out.

I have tried both methods. I'm locked out of my iPhone app as well, perhaps there is an account lockout in place because I failed logging in too many times?

Have you also tried to contact Spotify Support?

 

You can contact them through:
Webform: https://support.spotify.com/contact-spotify-support/?contact (choose the following items:

Loggin in -> I can't login to Spotify -> I still need help (and fill your details in here).

or

Twitter: @SpotifyCares

 

It can take up to 48 hours for a response but when you have used the contact form you should receive a ticket number.
