Spotify Case #: 06205397

Spotify Case #: 06205397

Hello,

I emailed a few weeks ago, regarding a change by Spotify (for no reason) in revoking my student discount and charging me £9.99 for several months without knowing. Having suddenly realised, I put in the exact same details on my exact same NUS Extra card and the price has gone back down to £4.99.

Emailed asking for a refund or credit for the £20-£30 taken over the months when they changed my price back to £9.99, sent this case #06205397 back in the middle of August, still no reply, except for an automated email asking me to rate the support (I didn't even get an answer!?).

Can somebody look into this, can supply receipt numbers for the all the months I was £4.99, all the months it suddenly swapped back to £9.99, and the months since when it is £4.99 again if needed.

Thanks,

Dan

Hey @Dan1000,

Please reply back to that email so Spotify Support can look into your issue.

Thanks!

Hello,

So I replied back to that email about a week ago, still no response?

Yet I've been sent another email asking me to rate their service?...

Anybody here that can help?

Hey @Dan1000.

Thanks for reaching back out to us. We can see that one of our team replied to your message not too long ago.

We've let the right folks know that you're still waiting for a reply. You should hear from them shortly. Keep an eye on your inbox.

Cheers 🙂

So I've just noticed, despite Spotfy not allowing me to update my email address (saying to update it on Facebook), yet my Facebook email being my current email, Spotfy have been emailing my ancient one from account creation. Hence I hadn't been receiving supports emails, or the warning that my student discount was to expire originally. I've just dug through that email, and found the reply, basically saying 'tough **bleep**'.

Maybe if you aren't going to allow users to manually update their emails, you should actually update them when they are changed on Facebook?

And for any other students, you have to resubmit your ID yearly, and if you aren't told this, you have 14 days to pick up on it yourself, or they'll just direct you to their T&Cs and charge you full price until you notice, and type in the exact same details again.

Hilariously, if I miss a payment, that email has always been sent to my current one, really didn't expect Spotify, as such a big company, to be playing underhand tricks like that.
