Spotify Family Plan - Adding Member not in the same country as you

Hi, I am trying to add my parents to my Family Plan. They receive the invite email to join the plan, however when they go to accept the invite it does not work. Are there any exceptions to family plans based on location? I am located in Canada and my parents are located outside of Canada.

Yes, the Family plan is limited to members that all live at the same home address.
