Spotify Family: multiple users wanting to listen on a central media device

Hi,

I'm writing from the Netherlands. I'm using Spotify premium and am in a family group. What I/we'd like to accomplish is this: We have a dedicated device (windows laptop) we use for playing audio/video. It'd be a lot faster if we were all able to stream audio to this device using our mobile devices. Currently only the user that is actually logged in to the media laptop can do this. Since we're in a family group and on the same local network, is there any chance this can be done (in the future) ? Obviously logging out and in again is no real solution here, in that case it's faster to just control the media laptop.

Hi there,

The post you linked is still up to date. Logging out and in again is the only way to control the media laptop from different accounts.

As Brunelicia said, every family member will have to log in individually to stream music to the Laptop.

However there are plenty of devices with a spotify streaming function that is not tied to a specific account. Basically every speaker with a spotify streaming function will allow you to stream music to it from any account that is currently logged into you wifi.

A different (and possibly cheaper) solution might be an amazon echo dot. While it is usually tied to a single account, you can tell it to "enter spotify connect mode" which allows you to stream music to it from any spotify account in your network.
