Hi there,
I believe I have just activated the Spotify Premium Free Trial for 30 days upon putting my details in. I am now a bit confused as I have a "receipt" dating today in my account settings even though I am on a free trial? I just want to check that I am indeed on a free trial and if for a bizarre reason I am not, is there any way to cancel the payment I clearly didnt want?

It's usual to see a receipt for the trial promotion, you should check that from the amount it indicates. If it's zero, then you indeed got the trial month. Otherwise, if it's in the normal Premium rate, then you weren't eligible for that promo.

It depends on the Promo. Usually 30 days trials are for users who haven't had Premium in the past, including other trials.You can check it on the Terms & Conditions underneath the promo page.
