Spotify Premium Student Discount

Hello everyone I currently have Spotify Premium with the student discount which is good for a whole year. I currently have used 4 months out of the 12. This past Christmas we got an LG Soundbar that came with a 6 months paid subscription for Spotify Premium. I have 8 months left for the sudent discount to expire.

We know the regular price is $9.99/month for Spotify premium

For students is $4.99/month for a year

And now I have this code that gives me 6 months free that is value at regular price, 9.99/month

So if I apply this code to my account are they gonna give me the next 6 months free and counted as the student discount period leaving me with only 2 months at $4.99 or will I still have my 8 months with student discount and then once that offer finishes am I going to have the next 6 months free?

As you can see I would like to maximize my offers.

I know it's hard to understand my question so please bear with me.
