Spotify changed my username to numbers

I created my spotify account a few years ago and made my own username (not numbers) and password. I've recently had trouble logging on with my old username and password. I was able to login, but it came up with an error message about internet settings and firewall. So, I decided to re-install the program on my computer. Then, when I tried to re-download the program and log-in, my username didn't exist. I got to my account through Facebook, which I've never done, so I'm a little confused as to how and when the two accounts became linked. I'm assuming it's because I use the same email address for both. Furthermore, it turns out that my username has been changed to just numbers! 

I know you can't change usernames now, but when and why did spotify change my username without informing me? Why was it only changed when I tried to re-install the program? What other changes should I be aware of for my account?

That's strange. Usually that only happens when your Facebook gets disconnected.

Could you please contact the support team via this Link?  They will help you find the old account.  If you could attach any receipts that you may have and let them know the old username, they should be able to sort this out for you.
