Spotify deleted a significant portion of my followers

My Spotify profile (@mrbunbury) had around 160 followers a few days ago, but within the past couple days, I've been getting a lot of followers because I revealed my account name on social media. When I checked up on it a few hours ago, I was almost at 1000 followers, but just now, I went onto my account and saw that I only have 170 now. It's very frustrating.

Why did Spotify delete my followers, and how can I get them back?

Just to check, are you still experiencing this issue? If so, I'd recommend that you check if the follower count is the same on other devices, as it could be a caching issue.
