Spotify displaying my full name AFTER disconnecting from Facebook

Spotify displaying my full name AFTER disconnecting from Facebook

Hi!

I want to be able to share playlists without revealing my real name, so I disconnected from facebook, re-installed spotify and logged in with my username (I never log in with facebook) but my profile picture and full name is still being displayed.

When I try to share a playlist the same thing happens, my full name is revealed.
Is there any way to prevent this?

Hey @deSex,

It can take some time for Spotify to update your display name and avatar after disconnecting Facebook.

Hi Maxim!

Yeah it's changed to my username in the spotify client, but not when I share a playlist.
When I share a playlist it still displays my full name.

I'll see if it changes in a day or two, if not I'll bump the thread.

Now it reverted back to my full name, without connecting to facebook.
The spotify app access has been removed before I created this topic and I've reinstalled etc.

Any ideas of why?

Maybe the data has been cached by your Spotify app and/or browser.

You can force clear the cache of your Spotify app by following the steps below:

  1. Log out of Spotify
  2. Fully close Spotify
  3. Open Spotify
  4. Fully Close Spotify
  5. Open Spotify
  6. Log into Spotify again.

It'd be also great if you could clear your browser's cache.

Once done - to be on the safe side, please wait around 48 hours. If it’s not cleared up by then then reach out to me again.

Thanks for your patience 🙂
