Spotify does not accept upgrade

I try to upgrade my free-account to unlimited - what happens? "For security reasons, type in your password." I do so. And then: "Payment failed. Please make sure that you have sufficient funds and that your credit card has not expired, if you're using one. To see your current payment details please go to your subscriptions page. If you still get this message after updating your payment details please log out, log in and then try again."

I used to have unlimited, and nothing has changed, visa card-wise, since then. I would be grateful for help with this, the advertising, as well as abstinence of music, are both serious threats to my mental health.
