Spotify for artists prior to first release

I was wondering: is it possible to set up your artist account  prior to your debut release, or just after?

If that's your first release, and you don't have an artist page on Spotify yet, then you'll have to wait until your first release is live on Spotify.

You'll then be able to request access to Spotify for Artists here.
