So, strange devices keep connection to my spotify, (( This is the third time I think, I have changed both my FB, G+, and Spotify passwords to counter this. )), some latina music lover with a windows phone keeps connection to my account, removing my playlist, and hijacking things.
Now, after a email swap, and password change, you would expect this to stop. But, it makes me wonder how secure my accounts are with spotify. This is the ONLY service I use that has ever had this kind of issue, and I am worried just how much data they have breached, my Credit Card info maybe? Who knows, can't really tell because even after I shut them out the first time, changed ALL my passwords, and revoked there device, and signed out from ALL my personal devices, a tedious process, they got back in??
Now I am not blaming spotify, but I am serioulsy concerned with how easy this must have been. I am wondering if there is any way I canr each out to Spotify to help me with finding out how much of my info was at risk, or was changed, altered, or moved, also, how can I recover playlist I spent hours - days building?
Sure am glad I didn't pay for pandora one ... -satire.
Hey @jasonsnickers,
The best course of action when something like that happens is to create a new account with a different email address from the one you're using (Tip: don't use the one you use for Facebook). That will give you a different Spotify username of your choice.
Once you have this new account, fill out the contact form, and someone from Spotify will be happy to help you migrate your Premium privileges, library, playlists, friends, etc. to this new account.
Connected devices stay with the old account, so you'll have a fresh start without them.
This is happening to me too and has been an ongoing issue for almost two months now. I've done everything you've done and I still have some dude adding mexican playlists and listening to music on my account. I have not had any sort of conclusion on this issue.
Hey @Heldure,
Some devices, like Sonos, bluetooth speakers, or PS4s, keep the connection to Spotify even after password changes, because of how the API works.
Like I mentioned in my post above, you should create a new account. With it, fill out the contact form, and someone from Spotify will be help you migrate your Premium privileges, library, playlists, friends, etc. to this new account.
alright, I really didnt want to have to do that but if it will fix it I'll do it haha. Thanks!
