Spotify premium codes

Hey,

So basically my mate is offering me some Spotify premium codes for cheaper than their oroginal price, I'm tempted to buy them,  so I'm just wondering if this is bannable. I don't know where he's getting them.

I'm not sure about the legal situation but are you sure these are gif premium cards and not trial codes? Because you can get trial codes at a lot of different places (> advertising) and as far as I know you can only go on one trial and not again. I'd ask him where he's got the codes from exactly.

If it sounds too good to be true then it almost certainly is.

The dodgy codes tend to come from two places:
- Stolen from people who get Spotify Premium bundled with another deal (like Telia mobile contracts).
- Premium codes given as a gift such as when you subscribe to the Times paper.

Spotify monitor both of these and if they catch you using a dodgy code, they will simply disable your account and you don't really have a leg to stand on in terms of getting your money back (since you didn't buy the service from Spotify).
