Spotify redeem code not accepted.

When I'm trying to redeem my Spotify gift card, this statement shows up: 

The Premium code you entered is invalid. Please check that you have typed it correctly.

The code I've entered is 11 signs long and I'm aware of the fact that the redeem code is case sensitive. I've controlled the PIN multiple times and I'm convinced that the code is correctly typed in. It is quite unlikely that my card has passed the expiry date since I received the card just a couple of months ago, but I can't really confirm that since the expiry date isn't clearly stated on the card. 

So how do I proceed with this?
