Spotify thinks I'm abroad, even though I'm NOT abroad in my car

Hello.

 

My plan is Free

Country

Norway

Device

Spotify on xPeng G3

My Question or Issue

I have a similar issue as:

I have not changed my country, its still Norway.

I have not recently been abroad with my car either.

I have also tried the option logout from all session, and tried again the next day.

Still the same issue.

Please help.

Thanks for reaching out.

 

Just to double-check, you're currently in Norway and your Spotify account's country setting is set to Norway, right? Are you using any kind of proxy/VPN?

 

Also, could you please head to this page on the device you're having issues on and let me know if the only country you can select is Norway or if there's another country listed too?

Hello.

1) Yes, I'm located in Norway, and my accounts country setting is set to Norway.

It is spotify in my car, its running XSmart OS(an Android clone I think).

I dont think that the data is relayed via VPN / Proxy

 

2) I cannot go to the profile page on my car, as it does not have a browser. But if I go to it on my laptop, its only listed Norway there.

Can you check your car's settings for any region/country settings? Make sure that they're set to Norway. You can also reach out to the manufacturer if you need additional help with that.

Hello.

I connected my car to my home WIFI, and it startet to work.

I have now disconnected from my Wifi and Spotify is still working now on 4G.

Strange, but it could be an idea / workaround if someone has a similar in the future.
